terminals when connecting wires would indicate either an open or short in the solenoid winding and solenoid switch must be replaced. If the solenoid winding checks good and plunger does close main switch contacts, there is still i possibility contacts are badly burned or eroded and will not pass heavy current.

To test continuity on the main contacts, leave 12 V. leads connected to terminals 1 and 2, connect a test bulb of a least 21 CP (12 V.) to terminals 1 and 3. (On servi-car solenoid connect terminals 2 and 4 with a jumper wire.) A bright glow of the test bulb indicates main switch contacts are passing current.
