Clutch Master Cylinder

DISASSEMBLY

Drain the clutch fluid from the clutch hydraulic system, (page 7-4).

Remove the rear view mirror and clutch lever. Disconnect the clutch switch wires from the switch. Remove the clutch hose from the master cylinder.

CAUTION

Avoid spilling fluid on painted, plastic, or rubber parts. Place a rag over these parts whenever the system is serviced. When removing the oil bolt, cover the end of the clutch hose to preven t con lam ¡nation,

Ramose the master cyllndei holder and master cylinder.

Remove the dutch switch, push rod and boot.

Remove tSse snap ring, master piston, primary cup and spring from the master cylinder,

TOOL:

Snap ring pliers 07914-3230001

Clean the master cylinder, reservoir and master piston In clean clutch thjid.

INSPECTION

Check -he primary and secondary cups for wear, deterioration or damage.

Measure the master cylinder inside diameter, SERVICE LIMIT: 14.06 mm (0.554 in}

Measure the master piston outside diameter. SERVICE LIMIT: 13.34 mm (0.549 in) WOT I:.

■ Th? wastei piston, piston cups and spring must he replaced as a set.
