Performance Test

Remove the turn signal relay.

Check for the turn signal circuit connection properly before this test.

Connect the terminals as indicated below: White/Green: D.C. 12 V Positive i+i

Green: D.C. 12 V Negative H

Crsy: Turn signal wire of one side; connect the other side to ground (frame!.

Check lighting ON and OFF properly.

If the turn signal relay fails on this tespreplacetherelay witha new one.

21. TROUBLESHOOTING

ENGINE DOES MOT START OR IS HARD TO START

ENGINE LACKS POWER

POOR PERFORMANCE AT LOW AND IDLE SPEEDS

ENGINE DOES NOT START OR IS HARD TO START

POSSIBLE CAUSE

1. Check fuel flow to carburetor, NOT REACHING CARBURETOR——»-(1) Fuel tank empty,

(2! Clogged fuel tube or fuel filter. REACHING CARBURETOR (3) Sticking float valve.

(4) Faulty fuel pump.

(5) Clogged fuel tank breather.

2. Perform a spark test. WEAK OR NO SPARK---------------Ml) Faulty spark plugs.

(2) Fouled spark plugs.

GOOD SPARK {3! Faulty ignition control module ilCM).

!4) Broken or shorted spark plug wires.

!5! Broken or shorted ignition coii.

(6) Faulty ignition switch.

(7) Faulty ignition pulse generator.

(8) Faulty engine stop switch.

S3) Loose or disconnected ignition system wires.
